Landscape design

I provide full design for gardens and landscapes, from the first site visit through survey, concept and drawings a contractor can build straight from. Having spent years on the tools before designing, I know what a plan needs to actually be buildable, so nothing gets left for the landscapers to sort out on site, and the project runs smoothly from design through completion.

Planting Design

I create planting plans chosen for the conditions a site actually has, leaning on native species and plants suited to the climate, layered so the ground stays covered and the scheme has something to offer in every month of the year.

From Courtyards to Country Gardens

I design spaces of every size, from tight urban courtyards and balconies where every surface counts, to country gardens that unfold over a larger plot. Materials, pot shapes and planting are chosen to suit the views and the building, with the space zoned so it feels bigger and more usable than its footprint suggests.

How a project starts

It starts with a conversation and a visit to the site. From there a survey is carried out and the design develops in as many or as few stages as the project and budget call for.
